LabTox uses multiple levels of oversight to ensure that compliance with state and federal laws is strictly followed. This begins with training our staff to be knowledgeable about legal and practical requirements of operating a laboratory that performs toxicology and molecular analyses. Our Chief Compliance Officer is Erica Baker who has several years’ experience at LabTox and she is very familiar with the various prerequisites of staffing positions at LabTox as well as our providers. LabTox’s staff and policies are rigorously examined throughout the year and is subject to continual review and updating. This assures LabTox’s providers that our actions are accurate and fully compliant with the law.
In addition to our staff and administrative compliance, LabTox’s state-of-the-art machinery is examined multiple times each year by CLIA (the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments). CLIA regulates all laboratory testing at LabTox. Three federal agencies are responsible for CLIA: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Center for Medicaid Services (CMS), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Being certified by CLIA and having the input of the FDA, CMS and CDS is one of the many benefits of working with LabTox.
